Growing up in Reno, Nevada, she didn’t believe it possible to love an area more than the base of the Sierras until she discovered the mountain wilderness northern Idaho had to offer—not to mention that western Montana and the northern Cascades of Washington are just a few hours away. As an avid hiker, backpacker, skier, snowboarder, and fan of most anything else that happens outdoors, she is passionate about sustainable living and environmental conservation. After deciding to make north Idaho her permanent home, she couldn’t have been more excited about the opportunity to join the MFA team and work in her chosen backyard.

Andrea’s work experience is primarily in civil hydraulic systems design and wastewater treatment including wastewater process engineering; wastewater treatment plant commissioning and O&M management support; groundwater collection system design and commissioning; construction management and quality control; stormwater management and treatment design; industrial stormwater compliance; SWPPP and DMR data management and reporting; and groundwater, surface water, and sediment field sampling and monitoring efforts. She also has had the opportunity to work with both state and federal regulatory agencies in both the private and public sectors.

What are you currently reading?

The Dune saga, and it’s safe to say that I am obsessed. When I saw the first original Dune movie, I watched it three times in one weekend because I was so enthralled by its story, and I knew I needed to read the books. I am working my way through the six-book series and haven’t been able to put them down since I started this journey.
