Mike has over 20 years of environmental consulting and research experience. He manages and leads highly technical work in projects up and down the West Coast, including a high-profile site at the Portland Harbor Superfund site.

Mike has over 20 years of environmental consulting and research experience. He manages and leads highly technical work in projects up and down the West Coast, including a high-profile site at the Portland Harbor Superfund site. Mike’s specific practice areas include groundwater, legal support, project direction, contaminant characterization, permitting, compliance, data analysis, and allocation, allowing him to support a wide range of clients, from municipalities, to ports, to industry. He has significant experience characterizing all environmental media—soil, groundwater, NAPLs, stormwater, sediment, surface water, drinking water, wastewater, and soil vapor. Mike’s technical background includes groundwater-system analysis, chemical data analysis, statistical analysis, risk assessment, instrumentation studies, and contaminant fate and transport modeling using software packages such as MATLAB. His experience as a marine scientist has provided him with an extensive background in advanced data analysis techniques and management of complex field efforts in remote locations around the world.

Mike is a member of the National Ground Water Association, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Northwest Association of Environmental Professionals.

What is your go-to weekend hobby? 

I enjoy SCUBA diving to see wild marine life and to explore the interesting underwater geology, even in these cold West Coast waters.
