What was your first job? Does it relate to what you’re doing now?

One of my first summer jobs was literally counting cracks in the road. I’d walk stretches of road in Pierce County, estimating the size and severity of cracks in the asphalt and entering that data into a PalmPilot. Now I’m once again providing consultant services to public agencies, but I’m less likely to be chased by dogs while doing it.
