Fiona grew up in Snohomish, Washington, and traveled to the beautiful Sonoran Desert to earn her environmental science degree at Arizona State University West. After college, she returned to western Washington to live close to the mountains again. She loves the rainy Pacific Northwest and spends her free time hiking, paddleboarding, biking, cooking, reading, and playing video and tabletop games.

Dream vacation spot and why?

My favorite vacation spot is Sedona, Arizona. It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been—it looks like a jungle growing straight out of bare red rock. The hiking options are incredible, and there is a stunning view anywhere you look. I have always loved the desert because the ecology is so diverse despite the harsh conditions.
