Emma joined MFA in February 2022 as a GIS technician. Hailing originally from Virginia, she is now based in Santa Monica, California. Emma brings a unique perspective to MFA’s projects, as she has five years of GIS experience in projects involving both higher education and public K–12 organizations. She is skilled in improving both client experience and business strategies through the lens of geospatial analysis. Emma fell in love with geography at a young age and continues to foster her learning of the world and its inhabitants with books, travel, and of course, her work. When not at work, Emma takes advantage of every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with her husband and their beagle.
What was your first job? Does it relate to what you’re doing now?
My first job was as an intern for a medical supply sales company. I processed and reviewed purchase orders and data. Working with large datasets seems to have stuck with me!
