Kent has 28 years of experience in public education as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent, having led a variety of building and district initiatives throughout his career. He has extensive experience in facilitating committees tasked with developing and implementing educational programs, prioritizing capital facility improvements, and creating new attendance area boundaries.

Kent has 28 years of experience in public education as a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent, having led a variety of building and district initiatives throughout his career. He has extensive experience in facilitating committees tasked with developing and implementing educational programs, prioritizing capital facility improvements, and creating new attendance area boundaries. 

Kent is experienced in developing educational leaders through collaborative support protocols and in motivating diverse teams to focus their efforts on improving organizational structures and processes by embracing change. 

Kent enjoys hiking with his wife and two dogs in the wheat fields that surround his 13-acre property. He enjoys seeing the Mariners play at spring training in Arizona and travels to various parts of the country each year.

If you were not a Senior Planner, what would you be?

I think I would have made a great general manager of a professional sports team. I am a football and baseball statistics nerd, and with the management and leadership skills I honed in educational leadership, I think it would have been a good fit.
