Colton has been immersed in the ever-changing world of technology for more than 20 years. He has worked in both the public and private sectors and served in many roles. Colton prides himself on his ability to solve complex problems, find innovative solutions, and deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external personnel. Throughout his career, he has been involved in and has led many large and complex IT projects involving multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

Colton became fascinated with technology at a young age and taught himself to program in MS BASIC, Pascal, and C++, but it wasn’t until he took on the role of corporate support technology specialist at U.S. Bancorp that he realized he had a passion for technology and decided to become a lifetime learner in this field. Colton earned his undergraduate degree in information technology while working full-time and raising four children. After taking on more leadership responsibilities over time, Colton obtained his master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in computer information systems. This achievement allowed him to combine his leadership skills with his technological savvy in order to enhance operations.

When not at work, Colton enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, woodworking, and pretty much every sport.

If you were not a Director of Technology, what would you be?

If I were not the Director of Technology, I would be either a meteorologist or a member of a metal band. I love studying and geeking out over severe weather and would most likely specialize in that field. I also love metal music and attend as many concerts as possible. I have converted my wife into a metalhead as well, so it’s something we can do together.
