After obtaining her BS in geology, Ysabel joined MFA as part of the response team sampling properties affected by a large wildfire in Oregon. Her expertise includes remedial investigations, construction oversight, sediment characterizations, geologic field mapping and analysis, environmental sampling, and data quality assurance. She also works on mine remediation in northern Idaho including groundwater and soil sampling; well monitoring, installation, and development; and report writing.

She is an integral part of the MFA’s field team, having worked in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska across multiple disciplines for the company. She enjoys the opportunity to get her boots on the ground as she gains a variety of skills with hands-on experience and a deep understanding of environmental conditions and how to respond to them.

In her free time, Ysabel likes to paint, bake, and hike.

Where is your hometown/where did you grow up?

I grew up in Vancouver, Washington. I enjoy the ability to actively engage in my community and its infrastructure through my presence here at MFA. The opportunity to aid in the environmental conditions in the greater PNW area day in and day out encourages me to bring my best efforts to the workday each morning.
