Andrew began his engineering career at MFA in 2011, although his wider experience, which greatly enhances his value to the team, began in 2000 when he enlisted as a combat engineer in the Oregon Army National Guard. Andrew was recognized as the honor graduate of Oregon Officer Candidate School class 47 and subsequently, in 2004, obtained his commission as an officer.

Andrew began his engineering career at MFA in 2011, although his wider experience, which greatly enhances his value to the team, began in 2000 when he enlisted as a combat engineer in the Oregon Army National Guard. Andrew was recognized as the honor graduate of Oregon Officer Candidate School class 47 and subsequently, in 2004, obtained his commission as an officer. In 2006, Andrew was the honor graduate of the Engineer Officer Basic Course. Since finishing Engineer Qualification School, Andrew has held several duty positions, including company command during a combat tour of duty in Baghdad, Iraq, from 2009 to 2010; and company command during a combat tour of duty in Kuwait, Jordan, and Iraq from 2014 to 2015. In Kuwait, Andrew’s unit conducted dozens of engineer assessments and completed dozens more construction projects. Andrew was a battalion commander of a construction engineer battalion from 2018 to 2020 and obtained a master of strategic studies degree from the U.S. Army War College in 2021.

In 2011, before beginning his career at MFA, Andrew obtained a master of science degree in geological engineering. Andrew is an exemplary geologist and project manager and is an invaluable member of our leadership team. He manages a wide array of projects, including Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments; hydrogeologic assessments and design of hydrodynamic isolation and remediation systems; remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and beneficial land and water use evaluations; general construction and remediation projects; and exploratory drilling, well installation, well decommissioning, infiltration testing, and test pit excavations; he also oversees an array of regulatory compliance activities. In addition to these responsibilities, Andrew leads MFA’s Southwest Washington-Idaho environmental team, Fuels business development group, and annual Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response Operations Training program.

My dream vacation spot is Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, home to the best collection of golf courses in the world, all in the cool-crisp air of the Oregon Coast.
