Christian earned his bachelor’s degree in geology with a focus on slope stability from Portland State University. He started at MFA as a field technician, working on the cleanup of the properties affected by the 2020 wildfires. Christian is now a staff geologist based in Bellingham, Washington. His work includes soil, sediment, and groundwater sampling; installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells; researching environmental site history in support of allocation determination; drilling and excavation oversight; surveying hazardous building materials; and preparing environmental reports.

In his free time, Christian enjoys backcountry Nordic skiing at Mount Baker, kayaking in Bellingham Bay, and off-roading with his dog Merle in the passenger seat.
