Julia’s lifelong interest in understanding natural systems and cycles inspired her to seek a career in the environmental engineering field putting the preservation and sustainability of these systems into practice. Professionally, she leaned into studying environmental chemistry and biology, learning to analyze samples for various organic and inorganic pollutants in particular in the research and design for solid waste treatment facilities. She understands state and federal cleanup regulations and provides quality assurance and control reviews in a lab setting for many local and state-level clients. In school, she led research and design for a solid waste treatment facility to support a local landfill project.

A new addition to MFA’s engineering team, Julia is eager to apply her expertise a step further. Her compliance support ensures that permitting requirements are met while drafting thorough reports and reviewing documents that provide solutions to clients primarily in the stormwater and wastewater sectors.

Dream vacation spot and why?

I am an avid backpacker and especially enjoy time spent in nature around trees. A dream vacation spot would be camping somewhere in the Redwood National Forest. My first solo backpacking trip was in the Redwood National Forest, and I would love to go back to take in the wonder of it all.
