Claire brings a diverse skill set developed over six years of experience, ranging from teaching, to global health research, to public engagement and strategic communications around the Pacific Northwest. For three years at the National Academy of Sciences, she worked on global health research projects covering violence prevention, health-focused public-private partnerships, conflict and security issues, and environmental health risks and solutions. Since moving to the Pacific Northwest and joining MFA, Claire has helped guide and facilitate public outreach and program development for a variety of clean energy projects, local and state agencies, and Washington State ports.

When she’s not working, Claire volunteers on a disaster action team with her local Red Cross chapter, writes a little bit, and explores the area as much as possible.

What was your first job? Does it relate to what you’re doing now?

My first job was working as a musical entertainer at Busch Gardens Christmas Town! I like to think it relates on the level of storytelling and collaboration, which are my bread and butter as a communications specialist.
