As the director of MFA’s engineering group, Kara enjoys leading a strong team delivering civil and environmental engineering solutions to client challenges big and small. 

Kara is a civil engineer practicing at the intersection of civil and environmental, with extensive experience in project management, large-scale earthwork and upland remediation design, environmental permitting, construction management, and site characterization. Kara helps our clients navigate the complicated regulatory environment to achieve their goals and maintain compliance. 

What is your go-to weekend hobby?

I love woodworking. It’s my creative outlet. In my career I typically design things that other people build. With woodworking, I get the satisfaction of building something tangible myself.
