A native of Kellogg, Idaho, Allyson was excited to return to her roots and employ the skills she’s developed from a diverse working portfolio for the benefit of the Silver Valley community. Allyson’s background includes office administration and project administration with architectural firms in South Africa as well as statewide case management and outreach efforts on behalf of nonprofit organizations for at-risk communities in Wyoming and Nebraska. She also founded, developed, and managed an ecotourism business in the wilderness of British Columbia.

If you were not a Project Administrator, what would you be?

I would put my master’s degree to use and create a nonprofit that would assist vulnerable people and trauma survivors with life skills and healing in a wholesome homestead environment. We would do everything from gardening and foraging to raising livestock and working with horses as therapy. Nature is incredibly healing; it teaches resilience and getting back to the basics of life while mastering skills builds confidence with each new competency. It would be a deeply personal and rewarding experience to combine my passion for homesteading and psychology by assisting others in their healing journey.
