Port of Anacortes Communications Support

The Port of Anacortes, located on Fidalgo Island in Anacortes, Washington, is a dynamic public port that plays a crucial role in supporting jobs, environmental health, and economic vitality for the region. In 2021 MFA began providing communication support to the Port as they were evaluating their marine terminal modernization. The main goal was to engage with the community and local partners to ensure successful project funding, permitting, and construction of projects that would modernize the marine terminal. To achieve this, MFA developed and executed a comprehensive communications and outreach plan that educated key interested parties and the general community about the Port’s significance to the region and its key initiatives. 

Following the successful completion of this initial campaign, MFA has continued to provide ongoing communications support for the Port of Anacortes. Today, our services include strategic communications advising; content creation for social media posts, website articles, and news releases; creating digital and print advertisements, and media relations support. While the nature of our work has evolved since the initial campaign, our mission and goal remain unchanged: to help the community understand the Port's vital role in their lives and to continue earning community support for its operations and projects.
