MFA led a multi-firm team that facilitated community outreach activities on the benefits of and barriers to electrifying modes of transportation through collaborative, iterative, and interactive engagement. The team developed and implemented an engagement strategy that centered vulnerable populations in the design process, focusing on engaging low-income populations in English and Spanish. MFA organized virtual focus groups and applied a variety of digital engagement tools that accommodated diverse participation preferences to ensure that everyone’s voice was heard.

Emphasizing the principles of equity and transparency, the team coordinated stipends for community-based organizations and those in need, and closely tracked and reported on stakeholder engagement throughout the process. The work culminated in a report that provided both the qualitative and quantitative findings of the campaign.  MFA’s work informed programs and services that PSE customers will use to successfully prioritize electrified modes of transportation including buses, cars, scooters, ferries, and access to charging stations.

"Being part of the initiative to develop EV infrastructure has been immensely gratifying. It’s crucial for our community’s future to have accessible and sustainable transportation options. By focusing on buses, cars, scooters, ferries, and charging stations, we’re paving the way for a cleaner, more efficient transportation system that benefits everyone."
