Air Quality Permitting for NXT Clean Fuels

Client Name

NXT Clean Fuels

Related Sector

NXT Clean Fuels, a renewable fuel manufacturer enlisted MFA’s assistance to obtain an air quality preconstruction permit for their proposed renewable fuel products manufacturing facility to be located in Clatskanie, Oregon. The proposed facility will produce up to 50,000 barrels of renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, and renewable naphtha from processing vegetable oils and animal fats per day.

As part of the air quality permitting process, MFA assisted NXT by completing health risk assessments required by the Cleaner Air Oregon permitting program and demonstrating compliance with National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) using dispersion modeling. The use of the renewable fuels to be produced by the proposed facility will result in a significant reduction of greenhouse gas emissions roughly equivalent to removing 1.2 million passenger vehicles from roadways.
