Tawnya is a native of Clark County, WA. After her graduation, her business education instructor introduced her to a home building contractor with whom she began a career in accounting. Over the years, Tawnya continued her education and expanded her skill set. She has provided full-cycle accounting for home building and construction companies, CPA firms, and other businesses for more than 30 years.

In 2021, she joined the MFA Accounting Team, where she is an accounts payable specialist.

Having reared two daughters, Tawnya now enjoys hiking, traveling, and attending outdoor music events during the summer.

What was your first job? Does it relate to what you're doing now?

My first job was as a receptionist at a fire department. Not only did I develop admin skills, but I also learned how to read maps really well, since GPS was not a thing yet! I really enjoyed my time at the fire department because it felt like a family—much like the culture at MFA.
