Reece was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He attended undergraduate studies at the College of Charleston studying geology. He later attended the University of South Carolina and earned his master’s degree in geochemistry studying ophiolites in Alaska using multiple radiogenic isotope systems, platinum group, rare earth, and other trace elements.

He later attended the University of South Carolina and earned his master’s degree in geochemistry studying ophiolites in Alaska using multiple radiogenic isotope systems, platinum group, rare earth, and other trace elements. His favorite hobbies include doing anything outdoors, hanging out with friends, and listening to live music. Reece is also a huge college football fan and spends lots of Saturdays in the fall watching football. He’s also a diehard South Carolina Gamecock fan. He loves history and the natural world — interests which contributed to his choice of becoming a geologist.
