Staff Planner

Ananda is a staff planner with a passion for environmental justice, community development, and housing planning. She became a planner because of her desire to effect change and serve communities around her; she seeks to provide value wherever possible. Her planning expertise has been gained through working in a variety of roles in both the private and public sectors and is complemented by a master’s degree in urban and regional planning.

Ananda is a staff planner with a passion for environmental justice, community development, and housing planning. She became a planner because of her desire to effect change and serve communities around her; she seeks to provide value wherever possible. Her planning expertise has been gained through working in a variety of roles in both the private and public sectors and is complemented by a master’s degree in urban and regional planning. 

In her previous roles, Ananda worked to create seismic resilience plans and evacuation plans, coordinated community engagement efforts, and worked to support housing planning efforts in the Puget Sound region. She hopes to expand her professional experience at MFA and build on these skills while serving communities in the Pacific Northwest. 

Dream vacation spot and why?

I love the San Juan Islands in Washington. They’re not super flashy or fancy, but they have been one of my favorite places since I was a child. I love watching the fog over the ocean and occasionally being able to see whales!
