Welcome to Engineers Week 2020
Welcome to Engineers Week! The purpose of EWeek, as the abbreviation has been coined, is to ensure a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers.
What does it take to become a professional engineer, you ask? Engineers must complete a four-year college degree, work under a PE for at least four years, pass two intensive competency exams, and earn a license from their state’s licensure board. Then, to retain their licenses, PEs must continually maintain and improve their skills throughout their careers (NSPE).
MFA is home to almost 30 excellent engineers with diverse backgrounds, from entry-level EITs to experienced PEs. All are diligent problem solvers, excited about putting their technical skills to use for our clients.
We’re dedicating EWeek at MFA to highlighting a few of our engineers’ favorite projects, lessons learned, and most-loved aspects of being an engineer. We hope that giving you a peek at the people and projects in the field of engineering will inspire you to thank, hug, or become an engineer!
