Group of team members

We extend a warm welcome to six new staff members, all of whom specialize in air quality services. Adding expertise in these services further integrates MFA’s engineering and consulting services for facilities that have air emissions and need to comply with trending regulations.

MFA’s new air services group brings technical expertise in civil, mechanical, and chemical engineering, as well as environmental science and meteorology. The team includes:
• Chad Darby
• Geoff Scott, PE
• Brian Eagle
• Brian Snuffer
• Andrew Rogers
• Leslie Riley

The team works collaboratively on projects with manufacturing, power generation, and other clients throughout the United States providing:
• Air quality construction and operation permitting
• Emissions inventories
• Industrial ventilation design and engineering
• Pollution control evaluation
• Air dispersion modeling
• Human health risk assessments and probabilistic hazard assessment modeling
• Compliance auditing
• Enforcement negotiation

Led by Chad Darby, the new air quality team brings to MFA unprecedented strength and expertise, and further integrates our environmental compliance services for clients.

Demand for air quality services is increasing nationwide, but particularly in Oregon. In 2016, Governor Kate Brown announced Cleaner Air Oregon, a new program to reform industrial air toxics regulations, led by the Oregon Health Authority and Department of Environmental Quality. Chad and his team are currently working with trade associations in Oregon to develop guidance to help businesses understand and comply with the new air toxics program that is being rolled out right now to more than 1,300 Oregon businesses.

We asked Chad to explain why he chose to join MFA:

I’ve worked in Portland for over 20 years and heard nothing but praise for MFA’s strategic thinking, technical abilities, reputation for excellence, and company culture. Most clients that are in need of air quality services also need water quality, waste, industrial hygiene and other compliance services. We are able to fully provide these services, and more. We love providing new solutions to clients and believe that our combined strength will benefit businesses locally, regionally and nationally by offering answers to a broad range of compliance needs.
