Arthur has lived in the Pacific Northwest for ten years working in both wastewater construction and environmental consulting. As a geologist, Arthur has worked on emergency spill response and environmental remediation projects across western Washington and the Puget Sound. Prior to working for MFA, Arthur worked on emergency spill response cleanups in the energy sector, Phase II and Phase III environmental site assessments for oil and gas cleanup sites, and provided support for larger spill response and Superfund projects. Arthur is competent in the field leading environmental sampling and groundwater monitoring events, geotechnical and environmental drilling investigations, and providing oversight of remedial excavations and on-site water treatment systems. In the office, Arthur is proficient with subcontractor coordination and scheduling, permit preparation, cost estimate development, analytical data interpretation, and report preparation.

In his free time, Arthur enjoys spending time with his partner and two dogs exploring the parks and coastal areas of the Puget Sound. Arthur has been scuba diving in the Puget Sound since 2017 and enjoys exploring new dive sites with his local dive club. When not out and about, Arthur enjoys reading, and is fairly certain ten lifetimes would not be enough to get to all the good books out there.

If you were not a geologist, what would you be?

If I were not a geologist, I would probably be a history teacher. I love learning and understanding the stories, experiences, and cultures of our past, and how that collective history molds the world around us. I find it difficult to make up stories any wilder and more fascinating than how history itself has unfolded.
