The current issue of EPA’s Chemical Emergency Prevention and Planning newsletter features Bill Beadie’s article on mechanical integrity programs in the section titled “Best Practices from the Field.”  The article describes a systematic approach to developing and implementing a successful mechanical integrity program consistent with the EPA Risk Management Program requirements for facilities with large quantities of highly hazardous chemicals.  The MFA approach differs from many traditional approaches by recognizing and addressing potential obstacles to an effective program as part of the development process. For further information regarding Risk Management Program or Process Safety Management requirements, contact Bill Beadie at Maul Foster & Alongi.
