MFA Promotes Phil Wiescher, PhD, to Principal Environmental Scientist

Phil Wiescher

MFA is proud to announce the promotion of Phil Wiescher, PhD, to principal.

Phil holds a PhD in biology and has over 15 years of experience in environmental consulting and scientific research. His expertise includes in-water and upland site characterization, contaminant source control, fate and transport evaluations, remedy feasibility and effectiveness evaluations, ecological and human health risk assessment, environmental permitting, chemical forensics for allocation, litigation support, and brownfield redevelopment. Recently, as a member of the Legacy Pesticides Working Group, he assisted the Washington Department of Ecology in addressing complex issues surrounding lead and arsenic contamination on former orchard lands in Central Washington.

Phil holds a PhD in biology from the University of Utah, a Bachelor of Science in mathematics with honors from the University of Oregon, and a Bachelor of Arts in history with honors from the University of Oregon. He’s certified in 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations Training and holds an Oregon Boater Certification.
